Baptism

Baptism is the first sacrament of you or your child’s faith life, and received the person into the family of God and the Catholic Church. Here at St. Joseph, we celebrate this special sacrament for infants (all children under age 7) in English and Spanish.

To help prepare for a child’s baptism, parents or guardians are required to attend a pre-baptism preparation session.  These sessions are held once a month, and are available in English or Spanish.  Godparents or sponsors are strongly encouraged to attend, but not required.  This class must be completed before a date for the celebration is set.

To begin this process for your little one, please contact the parish office by phone or email, or come in during office hours. You will need to complete a baptism registration form, and we will need a copy of the child’s birth certificate. Information on the next scheduled class, requirements for godparents, etc., will be available at that time.

If your child is over 7 years old, or you are seeking baptism for yourself, please contact the parish office for information about our Rite of Christian Initiation program in preparation for full membership in the Catholic Church
